Last week, as part of GES’s Community Development team’s staff curriculum, we hosted Jeff Pinzino from the Transformative Action Institute (TAI).  In this time of conflict and uncertainty the founders of TAI were unsatisfied with traditional methods of working for change.  Thus, TAI aims to train a “new generation of social entrepreneurs, innovators, visionaries, and problem-solvers for the 21st Century.”  It serves universities, nonprofits, corporations, and individuals using methods of conflict resolution that unite diverse groups of people and helps groups and individuals monitor their personal transformation throughout the process.

Jeff Pinzino visited our weekly GES meeting and discussed how to get to the root of our personal motivations and then how to express these passions through telling our own stories.  We learned that it is often very difficult to put into words why you do what you do.  Often, we cannot explain the feelings upon which we act.  However, we also learned that its ok to not know exactly what to say or how to say it, because we are all constantly changing beings, and sometimes we even surprise ourselves with how we tell our stories.
